Logline :
A boy that cursed by his father has to win against the other
animals on race match.
Storyline :
Once upon a time there was an old poor carpenter named Ben
lived with his the only son. They have lived in the middle of mountain in order
for Ben to get woods easily. Ben is really poor, even he cannot fulfill eat
three times a day. Because of his family condition, Ben’s son named Sho becomes
a very ungrateful and faithless son. Sho never helps Ben working or even a
single simple thing for help Ben.
One day, Ben is cutting the wood to make firewood for them
and suddenly Ben feels not well because his weak old body. Ben is calling Sho
for help because if they do not make the firewood, tonight will be a cold night
for them to survive. But Sho rejects him immediately and mocks him by saying
“You are very un useful parent, you even cannot make my stomach full yet you
ask me to do something!”. Ben who heard that is really angry that time and
curse him into a snail. However there is still a way for Sho to break the
spell, he has to ask an animal in the forest to have a race with him and he
must win the race before the sunset goes down in order to break the spell.
Therefore Sho goes to the forest and find whoever who wants
to have a race with him as a snail. Firstly Sho is looking for a weak look like
animal, so at least he got a chance to win. Then he choose ant as his opponent,
but then when he ask the ant to have a race match with him, he got tricked by
the ant that is helpful with each other. Every time the ant is left behind Sho,
the other ant is cover up by stand by in front of Sho. At last Sho lost to the
ants.
After that Sho is finding another opponent for him. Then he
chose a turtle to have a race match with him, after that the turtle ask him
with his irritating voice what is his benefit if he wins the match. Sho tells
him he will provide the food stocks for him during the winter. But then the
turtle rejects him and says he does not want that kind of thing, but he wants Sho
is stay forever to become his butler. At the beginning Sho feels indecisive
with the turtle offers, but he has no choice if he wants to turn back into
human again.
Then the race is starting. Sho is crawling as fast as he
can, as did the turtle. Unexpectedly those creatures are crawling so slowly and
even we can see worm is faster than them. In the middle of the race, the turtle
is toward to the lake and then he is using water lane. Turtle who is crawling
in the water is faster than a snail that is crawling. The sunset is almost
downs, Sho thinks he just give up and except it as the price he has to pay for
being godless son. Afterwards suddenly he saw an eagle flying and he attracts
the eagle by twisting his body to all direction. The eagle that is attracted is
flying towards him like he wants to eat him. The turtle whose having match with
him is startling by it.
Sho remembers what his father always says that when snail
can go out from his shell when they wants to poo. So, Sho forces his body power
to poo and make himself go out from his shell. After that Sho finally be able
to go out from his shell and he thrown out from the eagle grip. Afterward Sho
is falling down right in front of finish line. The turtle is startling fro the
second time seeing Sho is right in front of finish line eve though the turtle
is almost close to it.
At last Sho wins, and he turns back into normal. The turtle
is startling again for the third time seeing Sho change into human. At the end
Sho is running back into his house and apology his father for what he has done.
Synopsis :
An ungrateful son named Sho that cursed by his father named
Ben, because Sho always complain about his father that never be able to give
Sho decent life. Because of this reason Ben is angry and cursed Sho into a
snail. However, Sho can turns back into human again if only he can wins against
any kind of animal in a race match.
Story angle :
Sho is a ungrateful son and he only can complain about his
life without do anything, even though his father is try as hard as he can but
Sho never appreciate it. Therefore his father is cursing him into snail so that
at least he can strive to turn back into normal human for his life.
3 Act Structure
ACT 1
Set up
Key Character : Sho
Motive : He needs to win the race match against any animal
in the forest
Situation : his father cursed him into snail and he match
win on race match against the turtle in order to break the spell
Turning point : Sho has no choice and he finds out his
opponent, but he lost against the ants
ACT 2
Conflict : He found out his opponent but the turtle is smart
to use water lane to become faster and then Sho is left behind.
Turning point : Sho found an idea to make use of eagle then
he make himself caught by eagle then he detached himself from his shell in
order to go away from the eagle.
ACT 3
Resolution : Sho is thrown away right in front of finish
line and at last he can win the race the he turned back into normal human.
